About Me
I began my 42 year Art teaching career as the artist-in-residence at a high school arts G&T program in Columbia, SC. Later I helped design the original Tri-District Arts Consortium (Tri-DAC) G&T program, and I taught sculpture there for 15 summers. I also taught three summers in the Honors Program at the SC Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities. I have conducted many art workshops for middle schoolers through adults.
In 1982 I was named the Richland County School District One Teacher of the Year.
Since retiring from teaching, I’m now a full-time artist; I’m in my artistic renaissance. My forte is sculpture, and photography is my second love. I also paint and draw. I have shown and won awards at many local, state, regional, and national art exhibits. I'm also making "wearable sculptures" (my unique, one-of-a-kind pendants & earrings).
